WE NEED THIS TRUCK...Can you help?

While attending a Regional Nonprofit Meeting, our director, Greg Ross, was offered an opportunity to obtain a truck similar to the one in the picture. This truck would help with picking up donated materials, hauling materials to build sites as well as our future ReStore.  However, the cost of the truck is $2,000, which is a little difficult for us.   If you would like to help us purchase this truck above your normal giving, your donation designated to the truck fund would be greatly appreciated.  Simply click on this link  for a donation form.  We have already received a $50.00 donation toward the ReStore Truck fund so the balance is now $1950.

While the opportunity for the truck is great, we have also been so fortunate and blessed lately to receive many donations to help stock our ReStore, even though we don't have a building to put it in. So we are in need of a building to establish our ReStore.  So if you have a building that we can use for a year or two rent free, know of a building or would like to donate a building for this purpose, please contact us by email or click on this link.

Some of you may be asking yourselves, "What is a ReStore?"  A Habitat ReStore sells, at a discounted price, donated building materials, overstocks of building materials from local stores, or gently used building materials from people remodeling such as windows, doors, hardware, paint, closet organizers, toilets, showers, cabinets, light fixtures, etc.  The monies from the ReStore are then used to build Habitat homes.  One ReStore is known to add, from the earnings, three additional homes per year to its affiliate.  A ReStore would not only help us build more Habitat homes, but would benefit the community in providing local homeowners and landlords with discounted building materials as well as helping the environment by recycling building materials into other homes.  We are also hoping to use the ReStore to help provide training and internships for local vocational schools and colleges as well as with the Department of Job and Family Services and Good Works.

On Friday, July 25th, at 3PM at Good Works, Greg was interviewed about Athens County Habitat by The Path.FM out of Cedarville OH and associated with Cedarville University.  The interview will be on their local affiliate radio station 90.1FM of Athens.  Listen to Greg speak about Habitat after the 5PM news on Monday, July 28th.
