Volunteer With Us
Volunteering on the work site is a fun, hands-on opportunity for individuals and groups to build homes alongside future Habitat homeowners. No experience required! Construction volunteers do carpentry, roofing, siding, interior trim, painting, and landscaping. New volunteers receive coaching from more experienced volunteers and from staff. Check out a typical construction schedule.
You can also volunteer with our DeConstruction team to strip kitchen cabinets and salvage other materials for sale in our ReStore.
To sign up for Construction, DeConstruction, ReStore or Office volunteer opportunities or find information about more volunteer opportunities, visit our Events Page!
If you would like to fulfill court-ordered or lawyer-recommended community service hours at Athens County Habitat for Humanity, you must do so at our ReStore. Please report to the Athens County HFH ReStore (4 S. Plains Rd.) for information and training on Thursday, Friday or Saturday mornings.
Volunteers must be at lease 16 years old to work on a Construction or DeConstruction site. For all volunteers, we require a signed consent form.
There are other ways for young people to support Habitat – check out some resources from Habitat International.
