Athens County Habitat for Humanity's De-Construction team can salvage up to 90% of a buildings materials for reuse or recycling. This offses building removal costs, keeps waste out of landfills, and supports the building of homes in Athens County.
Donate through De-Construction
The Athens County Habitat for Humanity DeConstruction Program salvages building materials from residenital homes and rental units. The donated materials are then sold at the ReStore to raise funds for new home coonstruction throughout the county.
ACHFH De-Con Services
- Strip Outs: Staff and volunteers quickly remove structurally-sound building materials from homes slated for demolition. Materials removed might include hardwood floors, doors, windows, cabinetry, lighting, lumber, plumbing, hardware and architectural elements. This service is provided free of charge.
- Residential DeConstruction: From partial to full-scale projects that remove all building debris down to the foundation, Habitat offers competitively-priced deconstruction services as an alternative to traditional demolition. The donated house is a tax-deductible contribution.
